“This meetup we will have two talks, including a workshop. (1) How to create a chatdialog with a bit of AI (and why that helps) by Henk Westerhof (information architect at Informaat) In a chatbot dialog that works with a textual input, the recognition of the input is a crucial factor. The chatbot has to understand the intent of the user to be able to come with a sensible answer. And that is exactly where a lot of current chatbots go wrong: chatbots do not recognize the user’s questions that are a bit different than what is expected, or so seem to understand but reply with an answer that makes you realize it’s just another dumb chatbot. Henk will also facilitate the workshop. (2) Designing an interactive product for people with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities (Anke Sesink, interaction designer, Informaat). During her graduation assignment at the University of Twente, Anke designed an interactive product for people with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities (ID). Designing for such a specific and challenging target group asks for an alternative design approach. During her presentation Anke will show her design process and the findings of her research.”
